This book is a survey of Greek poetry, and includes several new translations of the Lyric Poets. Symonds, recognized for his scholarly books on early and Renaissance literature, re-issued this edition with the contents rearranged in chronological order and with some additions. John Addington Symonds (1840-1893).was one of the foremost men of letters of his time. He was a preeminent Victorian poet, critic, and historian.
