The range of the Greek artist Dimitris Tzamouranis paintings could hardly be greater: from naturalist renderings to rapid, expressive strokes and painterly spontaneity, his art offers the whole horizon of an artist s experience. This exhibition catalogue shows his most recent works imaginary and dream pictures in which he extracts objects from their natural spatio-temporal contexts and recreates them into phantasms. In his paintings forms and figures appear which deviate from the conventional order of the environment and constitute a new displaced reality. The iconographic design of these magical fantasy pictures is inseparably tied up with the psychological treatment and permanent self-exploration carried out by the artist.
