The reliefs from the Julio-Claudian Sebasteion at Aphrodisias were excavated in 1979–84. This volume presents a full publication of the reliefs and the associated sculptures and inscriptions from the complex, as well as some description of its archaeology and architecture. This material is of interest and importance from a various number of perspectives- for example, that of the provincial representation and cult of the Roman emperor and that of the continuing vitality and changing meaning of Greek mythological images.
