Loughton Stairs joins the Navy to see the world. While he's away, his girlfriend Lisa ends up with his brother Demain instead, an easygoing gourmet more interested in family than adventure. A change in fortunes leads Demain into uniform as well and to eventual assignment aboard the same submarine as Loughton, who still has Lisa in mind.
