Vienna, 1785: Mozart is commissioned a new opera as part of Roman Emperor Joseph II’s attempts to realize his ideal of enlightened absolutism. Vienna, 2006: Paul Rosenberg, government employee and frustrated musicologist, receives a letter written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
