In 1969, John M Armleder co-founded the Ecart Performance Group in Geneva with Patrick Lucchini and Claude Rychner. This collective artistic adventure, situated within the continuity of the Fluxus movement, later developed into a self-managed gallery, a publishing house, and a bookstore. Based in Geneva, the Ecart group is recognized as one of the important hubs of experimental art in Switzerland during the 1970s.
