This delightful autobiography is the story Miles Franklin's first ten years, spent partly on her parents' station in the mountain valley of Brindabella, not far from the present Canberra. It is the world of high places and graceful living which she portrayed in her novels, here recaptured with unfaltering warmth and simplicity. Unquestionably the most charming of Miles Franklin's writings, CHILDHOOD AT BRINDABELLA was written in 1952-53, but not published until her death in 1954.
