    • When Stephen Covey first released The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, the book became an instant rage because people suddenly got up and took notice that their lives were headed off in the wrong direction; and more than that, they realized that there were so many simple things they could do in order to navigate their life correctly. This book was wonderful education for people, education in how to live life effectively and get closer to the ideal of being a ‘success’ in life. But not everyone understands Stephen Covey’s model fully well, or maybe there are some people who haven’t read it yet. This is definitely true because we still see so much failure all around us. Now, I am not saying that by using Covey’s model, or anyone else’s model for that matter, you can become a sure-shot success, but at least we should have seen many more successes around us already judging by the number of copies the book has sold! So, where is the shortcoming? There are two main problems here, and we are talking only about the people who have read the book already. The first problem is that most people are too lazy to implement the ideals of Stephen Covey in their lives. They consider his masterpiece of a book as a mere coffee-table book or a book that you use for light reading when you are traveling and then forget all about it.

    • Children in today's world are inundated with information about who to be, what to do and how to live. But what if there was a way to teach children how to manage priorities, focus on goals and be a positive influence on the world around them? The Leader in Me is that programme. It's based on a hugely successful initiative carried out at the A.B. Combs Elementary School in North Carolina. To hear the parents of A. B Combs talk about the school is to be amazed. In 1999, the school debuted a programme that taught The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to a pilot group of students. The parents reported an incredible change in their children, who blossomed under the programme. By the end of the following year the average end-of-grade scores had leapt from 84 to 94. This book will launch the message onto a much larger platform. Stephen R. Covey takes the 7 Habits, that have already changed the lives of millions of people, and shows how children can use them as they develop. Those habits -- be proactive, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win-win, seek to understand and then to be understood, synergize, and sharpen the saw -- are critical skills to learn at a young age and bring incredible results, proving that it's never too early to teach someone how to live well.

    • The author expresses a long-held belief in the necessity of a guiding principle in life, one that is simple yet profound, offering complete direction. This work introduces the transformative idea of centering life on God, emphasizing the aspiration to be Christlike. A fresh perspective is presented: “We see the world not as it is, but as we are,” highlighting the importance of mindset in shaping our reality. To change our lives, we must shift our frame of reference, ideally to “the mind of Christ,” as Paul suggests. Through engaging illustrations and thought-provoking insights, the author explores twelve common life centers and their impact on essential aspects such as security, guidance, wisdom, and power. While these centers provide varying values, all but one—including the Church and family—are ultimately inadequate. Only the divine center proves to be fully fulfilling. The book offers an inspiring guide to the divine-centering process, detailing actionable steps for its implementation at different stages. With its substantial and profound content, the book invites readers to revisit its insights for deeper understanding and motivation, ensuring that its compelling message leaves a lasting impact.
