Free Music Production. FMP - The Living Music
    • "The book is dedicated to the history of the music label Free Music Production (FMP), which, as a Berlin platform for the production, presentation and documentation of music, achieved incomparable achievements from 1968 to 2010. Based on many conversations over more than thirty years with key protagonists such as Peter Brötzmann or Jost Gebers, Markus Müller tells the success story of a musicians' initiative that arose in the context of the 1968 ideas of self-organization and self-determination and worked successfully in an international network for over 40 years. The thematic priorities are formats developed by the FMP, such as the Total Music Meeting and the Free Music Workshop, the production of sound recordings, relationships with GDR musicians, FMP and women, the internationally groundbreaking collaboration with Cecil Taylor (who also wrote a text by Diedrich Diederichsen dedicated) as well as the FMP and its interdisciplinary border crossings. The book builds on the large FMP exhibitions curated by Müller in Munich and Berlin, but goes far beyond that in many aspects. Due to the unrestricted access to the FMP Publishing Archive in Borken, there are countless documents and photos from the history of FMP that have been published for the first time."--Publisher

    • This exhibition catalogue presents 120 works from the Musée Picasso Antibes. Inspired by his ardent new love for young Françoise Gilot, the artist spent his time at the Côte d’Azur (1946-47) painting scenes from antique mythology. This extremely creative period at the Grimaldi castle in Antibes culminated in his large painting "La Joie de Vivre". This book is enhanced by many personal photographs and in-depth essays.

      Pablo Picasso, joy of life

The anniversary volume of the 20-year-old but long-known and only Picasso Museum in Germany is a "who's who" of the greats of modern times. In keeping with the status of the Münsteraner house as a center for artistic graphics of classical modernism, the graphic arts are at the center. The volume is an anecdotal account of Picasso's encounters with his four famous colleagues Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse, and Joan Miró. Sometimes connected by jealousy, sometimes adored--no two meetings with his colleagues are alike. Together they create a fascinating overall picture of Picasso's works, including the other great painters.

    • The study on military recruiting examines the complexities of military recruitment within a global economic science framework. It serves as a primary scientific exploration of employer attractiveness, focusing on the German Federal Armed Forces while comparing it with other European armies and the US military. The research delves into employer branding, addressing factors such as work-life balance and global economic influences. It identifies two key levels of influencing factors in employer choice: the instrumental dimension (objective knowledge) and the symbolic dimension (subjective emotions). A central aim is to illustrate how civil-military research can complement and enhance each other. The core analysis evaluates the Bundeswehr's attractiveness as an employer amid public good challenges, alongside broader military and general recruitment themes. The Bundeswehr is highlighted as a case study for public employer recruitment. The findings and correlations established may benefit public employers, government entities, and private companies alike. Additionally, the study addresses overarching government and policy-making issues, including public goods provision and geopolitical considerations related to global public goods, while adequately acknowledging associated security concerns.
