Salvador Allende

    Salvador Allende fu un medico e politico cileno, noto per essere stato il primo marxista a guidare un paese latinoamericano attraverso elezioni libere. La sua carriera politica si estese per quasi quattro decenni, durante i quali ricoprì le cariche di senatore, deputato e ministro. Come presidente, perseguì una politica di nazionalizzazione e collettivizzazione, che portò a significative frizioni con i poteri legislativo e giudiziario. La sua presidenza si concluse con un colpo di stato militare, durante il quale Allende si rifiutò di dimettersi, togliendosi la vita.
