Dr. Milan Hausner léčil duševně nemocné pacienty psychoterapií s využitím LSD v době, kdy byl primářem psychiatrické kliniky v Sadské u Prahy. Byl pravděpodobně jediným světovým psychiatrem, který využíval halucinogenní látky v klinické medicíně v takovém rozsahu a po takovou dobu. Na své klinice se 112 lůžky využíval při léčbě různé dávky LSD, od 50 mikrogramů až po 400 mikrogramů, a to v rámci 60 až 90 sezení spojených s psychoterapií. Ta probíhala většinou ambulantně během víkendu. Vlastní léčba trvala 6 až 12 měsíců. Na psycholýzu velmi pozitivně reagovali zejména pacienti s různorodými neurózami, fobiemi a některými psychózami. Publikace přináší detailní popis nejrůznějších poruch, jejich příčin i léčebného postupu, který doktor Hausner využíval. Součástí knihy jsou případové studie včetně vyjádření jednotlivých pacientů.
