He persuades the United States to assist in conquering Western Canada and allies with Germany and Japan to take over America. His victories, however, leave Canada’s economy reliant on warfare, prompting him to set his sights on Europe. Meanwhile, Peter, a boy reading what he believes to be a fictional account of Winston's life, uncovers that it is, in fact, a true history from a parallel universe. This revelation reveals that Peter and his uncle serve as a bridge to not only this parallel universe but to another one as well.
