This book details my father who was in the Navy and worked his way up through the government working as a civilian at various Air Force bases in the United States. He was called by the U.S. government to take a job at the American Embassy in Beirut and have his family accompany him. This book discusses how I felt about being in the Middle East as a diplomat's daughter and mingling with the locals in Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Yugoslavia, Greece, and Italy. Two years into our four-year assignment, we were unexpectedly caught up in the 1967 6 day Arab-Israeli conflict and evacuated to Istanbul, Turkey. After that assignment, we were sent to Frankfurt high school in Germany where I completed school. I came back to the states and have several marriages had four wonderful children which I mostly raised as a single mom who ended up as an orthopedic surgeon, an attorney, an MBA project manager and my youngest is a 36-year survivor of Leukemia. During all of this, I was able to obtain my master's degree in nursing, an MBA, and a master's degree in healthcare management. I did it by myself and proved that women can do anything as long as they don't let the thoughts in their brains discourage them. I figured out how to become strong because of my past and the coping mechanisms I had learned. I have retired from nursing and I am now a Certified Life Coach helping women to learn how to become Brave and Unstoppable.
