Další dosud česky nevydané významné dílo velikánů evropského i světového komiksu se tentokrát vyhýbá všem žánrovým formám, není to SF, fantasy ani western, ale příběh z fiktivní jihoamerické diktatury. Přesto tu najdeme motivy typické pro oba autory. Juan Solo je nalezenec, který si buduje postavení mezi vyvrheli a zločinci a který postupně stoupá stále výš po společenském žebříčku zkorumpované země. Nakonec jej ale vlastní minulost i dlouho popírané lidství dostihnou a promění ve smutnou mesiášskou postavu, která se obětuje za druhé.
Bess je v tomto mistrovském komiksovém díle devadesátých let ve své vrcholné tvůrčí formě a Jodorowsky žongluje s archetypy lidské povahy, mytologií, víry a legend tak zručně, jak to umí snad jen on.
