For nearly two generations, Gia-fu Feng and Jane English's translation of the Tao Te Ching has been the standard for those seeking access to the wisdom of Taoist thought. The most famous and influential Taoist text, the Tao-te Ching is traditionally attributed to Lao Tzu, supposedly a contemporary of Confucius (551-471 B.C).
