A pictorial tour of the ancient Persian capital of Persepolis. The city was once so magnificent that travelers along the Silk Road would venture miles out of their way, crossing harsh terrain and risking robbery, just to see it. It was constructed in 500 BC by Darius the Great as a tribute to his faith, Zoroastrianism. Text in both Persian and English.
