Pubblicata nel 1615, la seconda parte di quest'opera nasce come risposta a una falsa continuazione del Quijote. Considerata la più influente opera della letteratura in spagnolo e parte fondamentale del Canone Occidentale, è riconosciuta come la prima romanzo moderno e polifonico, con un impatto significativo sulla narrativa europea.
