Davide Enia ist nach Lampedusa gefahren, um sich selbst ein Bild von der Insel zu machen, die in den Medien zum Sinnbild für die Flüchtlingskrise geworden ist. Seine Gespräche mit Rettungshelfern, Freunden und Fischern, aber auch seine persönlichen Eindrücke bei Rettungsaktionen und »Anlandungen« verwebt er zu einer unglaublich dichten und ergreifenden Erzählung. Lampedusa ist dabei ein Mikrokosmos, in dem die Folgen von Migration, Flucht und Grenzen unmittelbar spürbar sind.
