Nastal konec světa. A všechno začalo jedinou sněhovou vločkou. Po tragické nehodě v práci netouží Grady Miller po ničem jiném než před vším utéct. To se mu podaří se dvěma nejlepšími přáteli, Stonem a Jonasem. Všichni tři na chvíli opouští svůj každodenní život, v němž si každý zažil své, a vydávají se na dovolenou na jih k jezeru Prism Lake, kam spolu každý rok jezdívali jako děti. Teď mají na celý prosluněný víkend jediný plán: pít, grilovat a odpočívat. Když se však celý východ Spojených států ocitne kvůli obrovské sněhové bouři pod metrovými závějemi, které přeruší dodávku proudu, a cesty přestanou být sjízdné, jejich plán je v troskách. Přeživší teď svádí souboj s časem, aby stihli dopravit Miu do Města světla předtím, než začne rodit. Cestou potkávají někdejšího obyvatele Města. Navzdory počáteční nedůvěře, způsobené událostmi z Woodhavenu, se díky jeho pomoci a vedení zdá, že pro Gradyho a jeho přátele Miu, Stonea, Eleanor a Žvejka nastávají lepší časy.
