Both a dictionary and a glossary of terms, this work attempts to cover the whole field of Buddhism: religious, ethical and philosophical. Terms have been chosen from seven languages spoken in ten countries in at least ten major schools of Buddhism, and reflect those most likely to be found in Buddhist literature today and in the future. In addition there are brief biographies of eminent Buddhists and scholars both from the East and the West, enabling an easy reference to authorities normally cited.
