W sierpniu 1979 roku 303 jachty wystartowały do regat Fastnet na trasie: Wyspa Wight Skała Fastnet Wyspa Wight. Piękna pogoda towarzysząca startowi zmieniła się błyskawicznie w prawdziwe piekło.
