Visconti lecteur de Proust Premier ouvrage publié par les éditions Porpaparole, déjà remarqué par Pierre Assouline qui l'a mentionné dans son blog La République des Livres, le 25 février 2006. Ce livre inaugure la collection Proustiana, mais aussi un genre critique ― X lecteur de Y ― caractérisé par son attention a l'intermédialité entre deux artistes. Luchino Visconti était un grand lecteur de la Recherche. Bien qu'il ait porté à l'écran d'autres auteurs, le « cinéaste du temps » n'a jamais dissimulé sa passion pour l'Å“uvre de Marcel Proust. Certains de ses films, comme Le Guepard (1963), Sandra (1965), Mort a Venise (1976), rencontrent l'univers de Proust par des allusions parfois explicites, comme par leur esthétique. Cet essai étudie ces affinités.
