Focusing on the synthesis and evaluation of stable lipoxin analogues, the thesis presents groundbreaking work by Colm Duffy, who successfully created a pyridine-containing LXA4 analogue in enantiomerically pure form for the first time. The study reveals that both epimers suppress key cytokines linked to inflammatory diseases, with the (R)-epimer demonstrating superior efficacy.
