Originally published as a series in All-Story Weekly, this narrative follows the adventures of a character known as the Mucker. The story continues in "The Return of the Mucker," which expands on the themes and characters introduced in the first installment. Additionally, in 1917, Burroughs introduced a third tale, "The Oakdale Affair," which features the return of the Mucker's sidekick, Bridge, further enriching the storyline and character dynamics.
