The story follows reporter Clark Kent as he investigates the theft of black crystals from a museum in Metropolis. When electrical transformers explode, he transforms into Superman to address the crisis, encountering Acrata, a superheroine with shadow teleportation abilities. She warns of a catastrophic threat if power isn't shut down, but Superman is skeptical. As they confront the villain Eclipso, who wields the stolen crystals and seeks world domination, they must work together to prevent him from plunging the Earth into darkness.
