Meglio allora seguire il percorso delle coprendosi di una pelle di animale (recuperando cioè l'istinto perduto), con sudori e lavacri (e cioè purificandosi), e in molti altri modi, l'eroe e la fanciulla ritroveranno la libertà perduta, un lieto fine non scontato, perché conquistato con sofferenza come accade in ogni vera trasformazione esistenziale.
Ha scritto Jung che le fiabe consentono di studiare meglio l'anatomia comparata della psiche, in quanto sono l'espressione più pura dei processi psichici dell'inconscio collettivo.
