Maggiori informazioni sul libro

A legendary tale of a young boy raised by wolves, this adventurous story has captivated generations. Lost in the jungle, the boy is pursued by the fearsome, crippled tiger Shere Khan. He seeks refuge in a wolf den, where the wolves protect him and the she-wolf adopts him alongside her cubs. Due to his smooth, hairless skin, he is given the name Mowgli, meaning "frog." To be accepted into the wolf pack, two other animals must vouch for him: the wise old bear Baloo, who teaches the jungle's laws, and the black panther Bagheera. They become Mowgli's greatest protectors. Growing up among the pack, Mowgli becomes agile and strong, able to speak the language of animals. His adoptive wolf parents hope he will one day take revenge on Shere Khan. Mowgli is the central character in more than half of the stories in the two-part collection by Rudyard Kipling, originally published in 1894 and 1895. The tales of Mowgli have also been published separately, appealing to readers of all ages.
