Mentre nell’ufficio 11 del comando regionale di Hofheim si comincia a respirare aria di sconfitta, un nuovo cadavere fa la sua comparsa: è la celebre conduttrice televisiva Hanna Herzmann. Anche lei è stata picchiata e violentata selvaggiamente. A differenza della ragazza ritrovata nel Meno, però, lei almeno è sopravvissuta e, anche se non può fornire alcuna informazione a causa delle gravi ferite riportate, racconta che stava lavorando a una storia esplosiva da mandare in onda nel suo programma. Il proiettile che ha trapassato la testa del vecchio, un proiettile di grosso calibro, procura, infatti, questi danni. Decisamente meno familiari sono, però, le cifre che i due investigatori scoprono tracciate col sangue sullo specchio: 1-6-1-4-5.
