Melt crystallization is a chemical engineering unit operation for separation, purification, concentration and solidification of substances. The technology of melt crystallization is more and more applied due to its advantages such as high selectivity, low energy consunption, solvent free processes and the low temperature level which is beneficial to temperature sensitive products. There is no book available covering melt crystallization as its main focus. This book, therefore, introduces the fundamentals and the techniques of the unit operation melt crystallization including some of the market dominating technologies and gives an answer on what to do when the question arises if melt crystallization is an option for a process technology.
