The seventh German Antarctic North Victoria Land Expedition (GANOVEX VII) occurred during the austral summer of 1992/93, focusing on geological and geophysical investigations on both sides of the Ross Sea. Key research areas included the King Edward VII Peninsula in Marie Byrd Land and northern Victoria Land, addressing significant geoscientific issues such as the formation and break-up of Gondwana, the boundary between the East and West Antarctic regions, and the geological processes during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic/Cenozoic eras. Following initial findings published in a previous volume, this current work presents nine papers that delve deeper into data processing, petrological studies, and chemical analyses. The eastern shoulder of the Ross Sea rift system in Marie Byrd Land is less understood than the western shoulder in northern Victoria Land, where the Transantarctic Mountains are prominent. Aeromagnetic and gravity surveys were conducted to explore the crustal structure of the eastern rift flank. Apatite fission-track data reveal differing thermal histories between the eastern and western rift shoulders. The volume also discusses tectonic influences on the landscape evolution of northern Victoria Land's coastal mountains. Regional metamorphic rocks, shaped by the Ross orogeny and linked to Gondwana's formation, are examined, alongside studies of the Swanson Formation and the origin of amphibolites in the Priestley Form
