The purpose of this book is to help Christians think through the issues presented by evolution relating to the text of Scripture. It examines how theistic evolutionists must interpret the Bible. It begins with a look at how the Bible defines itself. It continues with a primer on historical-critical methods of interpretation. Theistic evolutionists must use these methods to make evolution compatible with Scripture. The third part of the book is a thorough treatment of the Ancient Near Eastern (ANE) argument. The ANE argument says that the Bible should be read in the same way we read other Ancient Near Eastern literature and inscriptions.
