Klimatische Bedingungen wie starke Schneefälle und plötzliches Tauwetter erschweren den Zugang zu diesen Kooperativen erheblich. Zudem wird die Sprachbarriere thematisiert, da der Autor aufgrund begrenzter Koreanischkenntnisse den Besuch von Kooperativen, in denen kein Englisch gesprochen wird, meidet.
