A study of the deportation to concentration and extermination camps of 6,475 Jewish residents of Köln during the Nazi period. Discusses the organization of the transports, which was preceded by financial statements on the property, resources, and housing conditions of the victims. p. 57 contains a list of the 23 deportations from Köln-Deutz between October 1938-March 1945, to Zbąszyń, Łódź, Riga, Izbica, Minsk, Theresienstadt, and Auschwitz. Pp. 16-188 present the texts of 57 documents relating to the deportations, with connecting explanations. These include documents issued by the Nazis, by the Jewish community, and memoirs of deportees. Pp. 143-156 report on 14 deportations to Theresienstadt between June 1942-March 1945 and describe the conditions and daily life in the ghetto.
