This research work deals with the extreme flood events and analysis of potential measures for an integrated flood protection in Pakistan in a regional perspective. Moreover, various adaptation options and strategies for flood prevention are investigated. The book synthesizes overall conclusions for effective management of flood risks in Pakistan. Need for introducing flooding insurance, need-based compensation packages and streamlining of local labor for the maintenance of flood control infrastructure are recommended to counter increasing amounts of flood damages to assets, livelihood and agriculture.
