Contrary to the probability of symbols as Claude Shannon defined entropy, the measurability of information can be based on semantics. His approach is revisited, but methodologically modified and mathematically extended. The result is a novel information theory based on »statementropy« and »statementensity«. In contrast to coding theory, this approach prioritizes the humanities. In particular, statistical data pertaining to these fields serves to generate objective statements about our interpersonal communication.
