Cragburn Pavilion, venue for the town's popular weekly dances, the Cloch lighthouse and Gourock's famous open-air pool (one of only a handful left in the UK) are among the locations featured in this book. The pier and station are shown in their heyday, with steamers alongside and wagons of coal standing by to refuel them. The Bay Hotel looks modern and stylish in photographs taken when it was newly-built; sadly, it subsequently became a shabby eyesore, and was recently demolished. Other archival pictures cover Gourock's major streets and landmarks, with a few less familiar ones, such as the town's old copper mine, included.
