A cornerstone is the foundation on which a world is built. If you know the secret, you can travel to other worlds through the cornerstones. Rathsmus has had a difficult life. His parents died when he was young and he was sold into slavery to a sorcerer. He later learned that he has the potential to become a sorcerer himself.
