    Středoškolačka Charlotte má první den po prázdninách pocit, že jí teď ve škole všechno vychází – ale jen do chvíle, než zůstane na chvíli sama v učebně na fyziku a udusí se želatinovým medvídkem. S úžasem ale zjišťuje, že smrtí nic nekončí: čekají ji podobně tragicky zesnulí studenti na kurzu Posmrtné výuky, kde se má naučit, jak dořešit své světské záležitosti a posunout se dál. Charlotte se ale posunout nechce: nejvíc ze všeho si touží aspoň jednou zatančit se svou tajnou láskou Damenem.
