This book is a journal describing Allan Roden's and his son's journey across the USA on their bicycles. The trip was started after Allan's recovery from surgery for Stage 3 melanoma (skinCancer). Allan was uncertain if he could accomplish this trip, but with determination, will power and the knowledge that his son would be there to supply support, he started out. The book describes their adventure on the road and provides details of their daily life while riding an average of 80-90 miles a day during the trip. It includes a list of some of the friendly people they met along the way and explains how they selected the "person of the day," which was defined as someone that went out of their way to be helpful or friendly. During the trip, Allan and his son became closer and became friends, an accomplishment in this day and age.
