    • All of us have a past love --one that turned out to be bad, or a "lost love" because of a mistake we did, or even because of tragic events--, but a love that still reverberates in our memories... and this book offers us a chance to live again, in our mind, those past moments.Being in love is a great experience, but love can change from a wonderful condition that promotes mutual happiness to a deplorable one that results in mutual unhappiness... From despair to forgiveness, we'll find a wide range of feelings, in these poems... Enjoy the reading!

When Love is Bitter: Poets Unite Worldwide
    • Under President Barack Obama, the United States pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 26-28% from 2005 levels by 2025. President Donald Trump, on the contrary, think that global warming is not that great problem: Obama's Clean Power Plan and the other regulations to protect the environment, are the greatest problem, because incrementing coal and petroleum extraction is his priority. Scott Pruitt, Trump's advisor and the present head of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), publicly denies that CO2 is a primary contributor to global warming --this way the head of EPA negates EPA policy and 'overwhelmingly clear' evidence on climate change. Is this just 'politics'? Or should we call it blindness?the Earth is the only world we have, and the poems of this collection, filled with empathy and sensitivity, thoroughly show our deep concern for the future both of our planet and of humankind -- a future that the latest executive orders coming from the White House make even less comforting..

Our Only World: Poetry for Planet Earth - Poets Unite Worldwide
    • "This poetry volume carries the reader into a journey from past to future. Poets from different parts of the world unite to share with the readers their memories, nostalgia, childhood recollection and experience of the world around. Each poem, in this volume, represents a unique individual vision of its writer. What makes this volume so special is the fact that it contains poems that express different cultural norms that identify each poet. Thus the readers are carried into a time capsule that takes them in a journey around the world. These poems offer a rare insight into the meaning of memories and how important and vital they are in understanding the depth of human misery and desires."(Tavgah Saeed, Karabük University)

It doesn't matter where you come from or where you live, terrorism affects us all... Then, is the power of the written word enough to begin to defeat terrorism? Of course not, but it is a strong way to make people think, first, and then coherently act. We can't 'teach' other human beings to 'live', but we can show them how we live and how we write poetry.. if they are interested in learning something about us and the way we 'make poetry'. The more young people embrace Poetry, the more it will let our hope in Humanity grow. Should we refer, as an example, to the topic "terrorism": although the human mind is unpredictable, a poet's heart is much stronger than an 'ordinary' writer's one. A writer could become a terrorist, under certain circumstances, but it would be almost impossible for a (real) poet. It is the poet's heart to make a difference! And we could add that 'Poetry of Witness' has become an important kind of poetry for making people think...

    • "Very informative and educational." [P.S.S., USA] "Impressive. Thank you so much: it's very very helpful." [M.H.N., India] "A very good haiku book. I had tried haiku before, but through your book I can now understand how far I was from real haiku!" [K.P., UK] ~*~ From Frosini's introduction: "This book comes from a project thought to introduce haiku poetry to a group of poets belonging in the free Association 'Poets Unite Worldwide'. When, many years ago, I "met with haiku poetry", in order to understand the basics, I had to refer to Japanese history and culture, so as to grab a bit of the Japanese mindset. Although a good number of critics argue that English-language haiku is separate from Japanese haiku and its tradition (and some add that haiku is not translatable), I stay with those who consider the value of tradition as the major guiding light on the way of haiku. Yet, this point of view does not mean to deny validity to gendai (modern) haiku, and indeed, many gendai haiku poets do respect tradition even in their being 'modern'. Over 170 are the haiku and senryu of this compilation. In addition, the poets who have submitted their poems for this book have granted me to add (when deemed useful), my own version --that is, how I would write that same haiku. I hope you'll find it helpful."

    • "Time To Show Up" is an evocative title for an anthology on democracy: it suggests answering a call to duty or to defense; there is the awareness that "Now My Country Needs Me," and it comes from that same source as true patriotism does -If your country is right, celebrate it. If it's wrong, reform it!*As Alexandra Alter wrote: "Like virtually everything else in the Trump era, poetry has gotten sharply political these days."*Indeed, as a matter of fact, the idea of a collection of poems about democracy came to me just because of Trump. The United States of America represent the most important democracy in the world. Yet, with the election of Donald Trump as its 45th President, America's Democratic Values as well as America's international leadership are at risk --and this means that international stability and global security are at risk. *'United We Stand' - Poets Unite Wordlwide.

    • "POETRY FOR THE WINTER"... The poems in this compilation have moved me in different ways. Sometimes it is just a line, sometimes a flash of humor and others where the whole poem affects me deeply. Such a poem is written by Kenneth Maswabi, dealing with the terror inflicted upon the homeless during the Winter months. Another poem, "Mount Fuji," by its precision conjures up a Japanese landscape and ends with it is an image full of charm:"At the shrine, white papers flutter / In the wistful winter wind."In other poems humorous and fun aspects of Winter are covered in lines such as: "Winter is the season of the year that you sneeze and freeze" or "warm snowballs make friendly darts."Sometimes a poet poses an intelligent question (is winter) "a beginning or an end.. " --and, in my view, the beauty of Winter is in both.Winter can also be viewed as a waiting time and Glen Kappy captures this feeling succinctly in one of a series of short poems: "In the park, / Few people, dry grass. / Bare trees. All waits."There are many lines and images I like: "Families round the fireplace / cheer and huddle." for instance. And there is a particularly fine poem about Athens in the snow. But, you know, dear reader, the best thing you can do is explore for yourself. Your taste is different and I can assure you: you will find many gems to your liking.[T.B., UK]
