"Always think before you act, because whatever you do, whether it's right or wrong will not only reflect, but also affect the ones who love you," my parents would always reminded me. But how could I, at age eighteen, be myself if I had to constantly navigate around others' feelings and life. I wanted to do me; I wanted to start crafting my own narrative and begin living my best life. Everything else was inconsequential.
