„Přemohli jsme demokracii demokracií v demokracii,“ shrnul Adolf Hitler ve svém projevu 30. ledna 1941 svoji politickou cestu, která v demokratických volbách listopadu 1932 přivedla k vítězství Nacionálněsocialistickou německou stranu práce. Český čtenář 21. století se oprávněně ptá, jak je něco takového možné, když poválečná historiografie nenabízí uspokojivé odpovědi, často zatížené ideologickými předsudky. Zrušení systému úročených peněz, zamezení mezinárodním spekulacím, zásada „obecného blaha před blahem jednotlivce“ a přísné tresty za lichvu – to jsou jen některé z principů, na kterých program NSDAP stavěl a které vedly k jeho vítězství v roce 1932. Rozšířené vydání volebního programu NSDAP obsahuje odborné komentáře od jeho spoluautora, hospodářského experta Gottfrieda Federa, který měl od Hitlera v roce 1926 „poslední slovo v otázkách týkajících se programu“.
