This collection of essays examines logic and its philosophy. The author investigates the nature of logic not only by describing its properties but also by showing philosophical applications of logical concepts and structures. He evaluates what logic is and analyzes among other aspects the relations of logic and language, the status of identity, bivalence, proof, truth, constructivism, and metamathematics. With examples concerning the application of logic to philosophy, he also covers semantic loops, the epistemic discourse, the normative discourse, paradoxes, properties of truth, truth-making as well as theology, being and logical determinism. The author concludes with a philosophical reflection on nothingness and its modelling.

This is a collection of essays about logic and its applications to various philosophical problems. In general, it is argued that logic constitutes an important device of philosophical analysis. Concerning the nature of logic the author defends the thesis that first-order logic is the logic. Among the philosophical problems to which logic is applied in the essays are: truth, consistency, realism, foundations of semantics, psychologism, undetermination of theories by empirical data, modalities, value concepts, identity, vagueness, God’s existence, transcendentals, legal reasoning, category mistakes, bivalence, the cognitive relation, and meaningfulness.

Niniejszy zbiór zawiera wybór moich artykułów opublikowanych w latach 2004–2015. Przeważają w nim prace dotyczące logiki w szerokim tego słowa znaczeniu, tj. semantyki, logiki formalnej i metodologii nauk. Niniejszy tomik zawiera dwa wcześniej opublikowane szkice o Holokauście. O ile pierwszy rozważa kwestie socjologiczne i historyczne, o tyle drugi proponuje pewien sposób traktowania Zagłady z punktu widzenia możliwości przedstawienia tej tragedii.
