Der zweite und dritte Teil informieren uber die Umwelt des Urchristentums (Zeitgeschichte) und uber die historischen und theologischen Probleme der neutestamentlichen Schriften. Am Schlua stehen Darstellungen des Wirkens und der Lehre Jesu von Nazareth und der Geschichte des Urchristentums. Seit seinem erstmaligen Erscheinen 1975 wurde das Arbeitsbuch standig uberarbeitet und dem Fortgang und den Ergebnissen der wissenschaftlichen Arbeit am Neuen Testament angepaat.
