The second Aguntum workshop examined the Municipium Claudium Aguntum's location on the upper Drava River. Volume 3 of the Ager Aguntinus series features contributions exploring the interactions among Roman settlements along the river, from its source to the Danube confluence. Archaeological evidence from Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia highlights potential connection points. Research on trade routes along the Po in northern Italy and the Ljubljanica in Slovenia underscores the significance of river routes in Roman commerce. Findings from Aguntum and Aquileia further suggest that river ports were likely present in Roman cities. This volume not only compiles Roman archaeological findings from these settlements but also engages in a discussion about the importance of river trade, extending beyond the Drava River.
