The development of transport corridors, integrating various transport modes, is a key focus of contemporary European transportation policy. This monograph addresses the complexities of corridor studies, particularly in modeling and forecasting the impacts of transport infrastructure development. This analysis involves multiple factors, including the spatial scope of effects, the long-term realization and operation of infrastructure, various transport modes, and the uncertainty of outcomes. Existing models often fall short in providing a comprehensive and dynamic analysis at the corridor level. The work introduces a methodology for creating models based on modular modeling, facilitating dynamic and holistic analyses that enable: (1) thorough forecasting of investment outcomes in transport infrastructure and its effects on social, economic, and ecological systems; (2) the integration of diverse scientific disciplines such as transport economics and computer science; and (3) the dynamic capture of interconnections between consequences. The content includes a detailed exploration of transport corridors, the role of models in development plans, a review of existing impact appraisal models, and a holistic simulation modeling concept. It also discusses system dynamics as a modeling platform, modular system dynamics modeling, and exemplifies a model for the 6th Pan-European Transport Corridor.
