Distribution of Peronosporales (induding Albugo, excluding Phytophthora) in Germany Detailed knowledge of the biology of downy mildews (especially spatial and temporal distribution and hostparasite interactions) is sometimes hindered by the multitude of literature sources as well as by the use of incorrect or obsolete taxonomie concepts in older literature. As a step to improve this, the present work collates a total of 10 787 bservations from 191 (mostly floristic) publications plus a few selected private herbaria. Information sources as well as enacted interpretations are carefully documented to simplify future revisions. The analysis with respect to spatial distribution (states of Germany), seasonal distribution, and host-parasite association enables the reader to gain new insight into the biology of downy mildews. The work is accompanied by a contribution by Markus Göker discussing the current taxonomy of downy mildews (including a key).
