This volume is dedicated to Wulf Schiefenhövel. Wulf Schiefenhövel has accomplished much not only as a scientist, but also as a medical doctor. Endowed with the gift to be able to catch the attention of his audience, he has managed to inspire and to motivate his pupils, colleagues and friends. Another of Wulf Schiefenhövel’s great talents is his ability to build bridges across cultures. This book is divided into four parts: The first part deals with philosophical, biological and cultural aspects of evolutionary theory and humanity – important frameworks for Wulf Schiefenhövel’s work. The second part covers ethological aspects of early child development and human cognitive evolution – topics on which Wulf Schiefenhövel has published numerous papers. The third part focuses on cross-cultural aspects of linguistics, genetics and medicine – these aspects are most connected with Wulf Schiefenhövel’s fieldwork. The fourth part embraces several personal aspects of Wulf Schiefenhövel’s work – as a teacher, scientist and responsibility-bearing person in scientific societies.
