Autonomic and trusted computing

Maggiori informazioni sul libro

Computing systems, encompassing hardware, software, communication, and networks, are increasingly large and complex, especially with the rise of embedded devices and pervasive systems. To manage this complexity, autonomic computing (AC) emphasizes self-managing systems that can self-configure, self-optimize, self-heal, and self-protect without human intervention. Organic computing (OC) further enhances adaptability and robustness, drawing on nature-inspired concepts for self-organization. Trustworthiness is essential for these systems to maintain control and ensure reliability. Trust and distrust relationships within the Internet and pervasive infrastructures are crucial for enabling dynamic interactions among users, systems, and services. Trusted computing (TC) aims to make computing and communication systems dependable, predictable, and secure while addressing sustainability and privacy concerns. Achieving practical autonomic or organic systems with trustworthy services presents significant challenges. Since 2005, ATC conferences have been held in various international locations, with the 2010 proceedings documenting the 7th International Conference on Autonomic and Trusted Computing (ATC 2010) in Xi’an, China, from October 26–29, 2010.
