English summary: This volume measures the possibilities and boundaries of the analysis of political communication and public opinion in the ancient world: in what ways are the social scientific methods, theories and models made useful for the study of the ancient history? On the other hand, which stimuli are able to facilitate the use of the ancient source material with the social sciences? The thematically broad spectrum of the studies cover the Greco-Roman world from the time of classical Athens to late antiquity as well as the cultural circle of ancient Israel, Egypt and China.
